Chelsea Suffer Another Blow In Pursuit Of A Defender

The Premier League Champions Chelsea has suffered another blow in the pursuit of defender this summer, they have previously suffered a setback in the race to sign Kyle Walker and Danilo.

The Blues has been linked with the Alex Sandro this summer who is arguably one of the best left -wing back.

It appears that Antonio Conte is keen for competition for places in the coming campaign, specifically in the wing back positions.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle Walker and Real Madrid’s Danilo have also been on Antonio Conte’s radar this summer but he was unable to secure the deal to bring the players to Stamford Bridge.

Conte is set to suffer another shocking defeat in the pursuit of Alex Sandro as Juventus coach Maximiliano Allegri is adamant that the player will remain with the Italian champions.

Chelsea has attempted two bids for the Sandro this summer transfer window but the departure of Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci has triggered the desire of Juventus to hold on to their defender.

Chelsea’s hopes of signing Sandro have been boosted in recent weeks due to the fact that the left back hasn’t signed a new deal at Juventus, despite talk of a new deal, but the recent comment of Allegri has made the move for the defender look pretty dead in the water.

He was speaking after Juventus beat Roma on penalties after a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Allegri said about Sandro: “He is an extraordinary player and won’t be leaving Juventus”.

 “Alex Sandro is an extraordinary player who has been much improved since he came and still has a lot of improvement, and together with Marcelo I think they are the strongest left backs in the world.”

Ultimately, the Chelsea links won’t end until Sandro signs a new deal at Juventus.

Chelsea will need to look elsewhere to sign a defender before the end of the transfer window.
