1xCup 2025 final day: energy, fanfare and a new chapter in Nigerian football history

On October 16, the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (Onikan, Lagos) became the place where answers were given to the main questions of Nigeria’s biggest amateur football tournament, organized by the global betting company 1xBet.

Nath Boys FA vs Dosu Joseph FC: 1-2

The designated home team opened the scoring in the 15th minute thanks to a vertical attack – they needed only two passes to get across the pitch and put their forward in a one-on-one situation. The Nath Boys FA player took advantage of the fact that the goalkeeper was far off his line.

Dosu Joseph FC started the 1xCup 2025 with two defeats but turned things around. In the third place match, they showed their determination again. Dosu Joseph scored twice in the first 5 minutes of the second half. Ikorodu City FA vs ISAGT: 1-0

The main match of the tournament lived up to expectations. Ikorodu City FA, the team with arguably the most reliable defense at the 1xCup 2025, once again proved that stability and discipline are the keys to success.

ISAGT’s mistake in the 72nd minute proved fatal. Ikorodu City held on to their narrow lead and finished the tournament with an impressive record, conceding only 2 goals on their way to the trophy.
