The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot winner Emmanuel Emenike is in talks with Belgian club KVC Westerlo over a possible transfer to the club.

The 32-year-old former Super Eagles striker has been without a club since the summer of 2018 following his release by Greek Super League side Olympiakos but Otuocha Aguleri-born started training with Westerlo on Tuesday morning as the club announced on their official website.

“A new face in the training this morning! KVC Westerlo is in conversation with Emmanuel Emenike. In anticipation of a possible agreement, he is already training with our team.Emenike has struggled with injury ever since then and didn’t feature for any club during the 2018-2019 season.The powerful striker was part of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations winning squad in South Africa in 2013 starting his career at Delta Force, he had spells at South African clubs MP Black Aces and FC Cape Town before moving to Turkish side Karabukspor in 2009 he also played for Fenerbahce, Spartak Moscow, Al Ain, West Ham and Las Palmas in the past.
