2023: RCCG Faces Backlash As New Directorate Of Politics Canvasses Support For Osinbajo

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been dragged online for promoting the candidacy of the Vice President Pastor Yemi Osinbajo who is contesting for president in 2023.

Head of the church’s newly created directorate of politics and governance Pastor Timothy Olaniyan said Osinbajo, being a “child of God,” remained the only aspirant capable of changing the governance narrative in Nigeria.

“As of today, Pastor Yemi Osinbajo is not just a pastor; he is still a child of God,” he said.

Olaniyan spoke over the weekend at the inaugural conference of a political movement called New Era Nigeria (NEN).

His statement has stirred up controversy on Twitter where many have begun attacking the church.
