Young boys and girls have been banned from night hawkings in the Hadejia local government council of Jigawa State.

He said the hawkers have been banned from entering and roaming markets in the locality from 7:00am and after 6:00 pm.

He said the new law is part of the council’s efforts to checkmate suspected immorality in the area, including s*xual relations between the hawkers and others in the markets.

The local government Chairman, Bala AbdulKadir advised parents and guardians of the young people who sell in the market to complement the government’s efforts by ensuring good moral upbringing of their children.

He warned that the law would not be lenient on those who go against it.
