Alleged Physical Assault on Ikoyi Corporate Tenants Linked to Chief Chidi Anyeagbu, aka Chisco

A tweep shared this on twitter on the business mogul, Chisco sent people to assault corporate tenants of Shonowo Family at No. 1 Okunola Martins Road, Ikoyi and said it was within his rights as the new owner of the property and allegedly boasted about support from various police authorities.

The way the rich intimidate and oppress people in Nigeria is really not fair. There was a physical assault from people sent by Chief Chidi Anyeagbu popularly known as Chisco, on corporate tenants of Shonowo Family at No. 1 Okunola Martins Road, Ikoyi.

A reputable corporate tenant in the oil and gas industry, a longstanding corporate tenant of the Shonowo family, has been residing at the property for over 30 years, consistently paying rents to the Family without owing a dime.

But on Tuesday, 10th October 2023, the Police, accompanied by an individual claiming to be a Lagos State government official, issued an invitation to the occupiers of the property to visit the Area Commander at Lion Building.

Later the same day, the Police returned to arrest everyone on the property, alleging that it was occupied by miscreants, which is largely untrue and unfound.

In a shocking turn of events on Wednesday, 11th October 2023, a group of individuals vandalized the property at 5 a.m., breaking down walls, chasing security personnel away, and damaging property within the premises.

Despite reporting the incident to Lion Building, no police assistance was provided.

Later that morning, a second group of over 20 individuals, accompanied by construction workers, stormed the property, attacking security personnel and causing injuries. These individuals proceeded to erect a fence, sealing the premises along with the Corporate Tenant’s properties inside.

Subsequently, some police officers arrived from Alagbon, and the intruders fled into a nearby event center owned by Chief Chidi Anyeagbu.

Chief Chidi Anyeagbu claimed that the individuals involved were acting on his orders as the new owner of the property and allegedly boasted about support from various police authorities.

The safety, rights, properties and the protection of the corporate tenant, Shonowo Family, and all parties involved must be sacrosanct.
