Grammys ‘omits’ Wizkid , Tems names from list of African singers who have won awards

Netizens expressed mixed reactions after Grammys excluded the names of  Afrobeats superstars, Tems and Wizkid from their award list.

The Grammys released the list of African singers who have won Grammy Awards in the past years.

African performers who have won golden records since the 1960s have been listed by the organizers of the 66th Grammy Awards, which take place on February 4.

The late South African singer Miriam Makeba was the first African recipient of a Grammy award, according to the list.

Pop sensation Sade did the same, making history as the first Nigerian to win the coveted award worldwide. Burna Boy, on the other hand, became the last and most recent Nigerian to win the notable trophy.
