“Wizkid inspired me; I’ve been eager to collaborate with him” – Asake

Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has opened up on his admiration for fellow artist Wizkid and their recent collaboration.

In a candid revelation, Asake expressed that Wizkid, a Grammy-winning star, has been a significant influence on his music career.

The announcement comes alongside the release of Asake’s highly anticipated third studio album, Lungu Boy.

The album features a standout track, “MMS,” which includes a collaboration with Wizkid.

Asake shared his excitement about working with the “Ojuelegba” hitmaker, highlighting that Wizkid has long been a source of inspiration for him.

 “It’s no secret that Wizkid is one of my music inspirations. As a young striving artiste in Lagos, I’ve been waiting for that right song so when the opportunity came it was a no brainer.

“‘MMS’ stands for ‘Mr Money Sound’ and it explains my music journey.”
