Kepa Arrizabalaga joins Bournemouth on season-long loan from Chelsea

Bournemouth have announced the loan signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spaniard, who joined the club for £71m in 2018, the world record price for a goalkeeper, has been out-of-favour at the Blues over the past few seasons.

He spent last season loan at the Santiago Bernabeu with Real Madrid, where he won both LaLiga and the Champions League. 

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: ‘We are delighted to bring a player of Kepa’s calibre to AFC Bournemouth.

‘We were aware of his availability and were keen to take the opportunity to bring him to the club on loan.  

We believe he will be an exciting addition to our talented goalkeeping department.’

Kepa made 20 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid last season. 

Since joining Chelsea from boyhood club Athletic Bilbao, the goalkeeper has made 163 appearances for the Blues.
