Arrest by proxy is unprofessional. You can’t arrest the mother in place of her son for an offence she knows nothing about – Force PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that arrest by proxy is unprofessional, illegal, and unacceptable. 

Arrest by proxy is when a close relative or associate of a suspect is arrested and withheld until the suspect is apprehended.

In a post shared on his X, Adejobi said;

”Re-echo it. You can’t arrest the mother in place of her son for an offence she knows nothing about- Force PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, says it is ‘’unprofessional, illegal and unacceptable”
