Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has responded to Julius Abure’s recent court victory by indicating that they are currently reviewing the latest developments.
Recall that Abure was on Tuesday affirmed as the substantive Chairman of the Labour Party by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Abure expressed gratitude and forgiveness, calling the victory “a triumph for justice and democracy”.
He also urged Peter Obi to help unite the party, emphasising their commitment to fighting for the common man and Nigeria’s betterment.
Reacting on X, formerly Twitter, Obi urged his supporters not to be distracted by the recent development while reiterating his commitment to build a new Nigeria.
“Yesterday, Governor Alex Otti @alexottiofr and I, along with the Caretaker Chairman and Secretary of the Labour Party, convened to discuss and review recent developments, including the judgment delivered by an Abuja High Court on the same day.
“I urge all members of the Labour Party to remain calm and patient as we continue to engage in discussions and consultations.
“Our goal is to emerge stronger and more unified, standing together as one united front. We must not allow this to divert us from addressing the pressing issues affecting our people today.
“We have always known that the task of creating a new Nigeria that is possible will not come without challenges. -PO”
The court ruling has sparked various reactions, with some congratulating Abure on his victory and others questioning the implications for the party’s future.
