NBS reports hack on its website

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), has reported a hack on its official website.

It made this known in a statement via its official handle on X on Wednesday night.

It however disclosed that it is working on recovering the website, and urged the public to disregard any information that comes from it for now.

The post read, “This is to inform the public that the NBS Website has been hacked and we are working to recover it. Please disregard any message or report posted until the website is fully restored. Thank you.”

The NBS uses its website to publish crucial statistics concerning key sectors in the country.

It however seems that the website is yet to be recovered from the hackers, as attempts to log into the Agency’s website www.nigerianstat.gov.ng on Thursday morning was unsuccessful. It said “the site can’t be reached.”
