Man proposes death sentence for ‘yahoo boys’

A man, identified simply as John, has proposed a death penalty for those involved in internet fraud, popularly known as ‘yahoo boys‘.

He made this suggestion in a tweet via his handle on X.

According to him, they should be sentenced to death by firing squad.

He stated, “Yahoo boys should be sentenced to death by firing squad.”

This has led to a number of reactions from Nigerians.

Obinna Okafor stated, “If that happens more than 50% of young boys in Nigeria will be dead and more that 60% of Nigerian women will be single till the rest of there lives.”

Another X user, @OluwajunseBola1 said, “Plus 60 years with hard labour for their families.”

@683Ez wrote, “No, they should be reformed and given work that utilizes their skill. If they can use their talent for wrong they can use it for right- it’s all about framing and incentives. If they are still repeat offenders then…”
