Lady passes away from ear problem weeks after surgery left her in wheelchair despite spending ₦2m

A Nigerian lady, identified as @ZainabAdefowora on X, has passed away due to complications from an ear problem, weeks after the same condition left her wheelchair-bound despite spending over ₦2 million on surgery.

Her story gained attention on X, where she frequently shared updates about her health struggles.

In one of her posts, she expressed the severity of her condition, writing, “Ear problems can be so disturbing and life-threatening for real.”

As her health worsened, she sought medical attention and shared evidence of her hospital visits.

She later disclosed the financial burden of her treatment, stating, “I don’t want to d!!ev. I’m still yet to calculate the cost of the surgery after spending close to ₦2 million already.”

In another post, she made a desperate plea for help: “Please, guys, I need every single donation. The pus in my ear needs to be removed immediately. My facial deviation is returning, and I’m experiencing dizziness and severe headaches. The specialist said they’ve done their best to avoid surgery, but now it’s the only option left.”

She further revealed the cost of the procedure, stating, “I need to pay for blood and surgery, and everything costs around ₦600,000.”

Following the surgery, she shared an update, revealing that she had been placed in a wheelchair due to complications. Her distress was evident in a heartbreaking post: “If there was a way I could take my life, I would have done it on December 9. I’m tired. I want to give up. But there’s still hope after the surgery. I can’t even walk properly anymore 😭😭.”

Tragically, weeks later, an acquaintance announced her passing, lamenting, “From an ear problem to being in a wheelchair. Now she’s gone. This one pain me.”
