Nigerian police reacts to trending video of woman giving her child alcohol so she can sleep better at night (video)

The Nigeria Police Force has reacted to a widely shared video showing a mother giving her infant daughter alcohol to help her fall asleep at night. 

The mother was seen with a sachet of alcohol in her hand, which she opened and used to feed her infant.

Taking to X, the Police said they are aware of this upsetting video and are looking into it immediately. The force emphasised how dangerous and unlawful it is to expose a child to alcohol. The police urged anyone in the public who might have important information that could help apprehend this “mother” quickly to share it without hesitation.

‘’They can reach out to us on 09169967000. The child’s safety is our priority.” the police said
