Boxing superstar Gervonta Davis arrested for domestic violence

Boxing champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been arrested on domestic violence charges, TMZ Sports has confirmed. The 30-year-old fighter was taken into custody early Friday morning, with authorities releasing a booking photo showing him in a white polo shirt and a vacant expression.

According to reporter Andy Slater, Davis had been wanted by police following an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend that occurred several weeks ago. The incident reportedly took place on June 15, Father’s Day, just after 9 PM, as Davis was picking up his children from their mother.

Police say the situation escalated from a verbal argument to a physical confrontation. The alleged victim told officers that Davis struck her in the back of the head and slapped her face, leaving a visible laceration. Her mother reportedly witnessed the aftermath, telling police her daughter was “visibly distressed and crying.”

Authorities were alerted to Davis’ whereabouts after a license plate reader flagged his vehicle in Miami Beach, leading to a traffic stop and arrest.

The alleged victim is said to have provided a video to investigators that captured the argument. In the footage, Davis is allegedly seen throwing a small box at her.

This is not Davis’ first encounter with law enforcement. The boxer, known for his explosive style in the ring, has faced several legal issues in recent years, raising questions about his conduct outside the sport.
