Nigerian Islamic cleric and counselor Bello Muhammed Tahir (BMT) has expressed strong disapproval of the way Muslim first wives view potential second wives as “husband snatchers,” describing it as “sickening, and unpalatable.”

In a Facebook post on Monday, July 21, the cleric said that a woman being a first wife doesn’t mean that her husband is her property.

“It is sickening and very unpalatable how Muslim first wives think that a potential second wife is a husband snatcher,” he wrote.
