AGN suspends actress Shirley Igwe over alleged assault on crew member

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe following reports that she assaulted a crew member on a movie set.

According to TVC, Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) during production, prompting swift disciplinary action from AGN.

In a statement issued to its state chapter chairmen and national leadership, the Guild said Igwe has been placed on indefinite suspension pending further investigation.

The AGN cited “violence and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession” as the reason for the suspension and directed members to stay away from any film production involving her.
