Tragedy was averted as a new building under construction in a hotel collapsed yesterday evening in Sapele area of Delta state while some men were working. According to Sapele Oghenek, the hotel (Crystal Choice) which belongs to Hon. Jonathan Okpako Amitaye, Commissioner representing Sapele, Okpe and Ethiope West in the Board of Delta State – collapsed to shallow foundation.

Management of the hotel reportedly sealed off the gate after the collapse to prevent people from entering the hotel.

There was no casualty recorded in the incident.
