32-year-old woman dies few hours after she became paralyzed while working on farm with her mother-in-law in Delta

A 32-year-old woman,  Precious Simon, died shortly after her two legs became paralyzed while working on a farm with her mother-in-law in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

According to Ika Weekly Newspaper published on Monday, August 18, Precious’ mother-in-law had asked her to accompany her to the farm.

Precious brought her two children to her mother’s house to help her take care of them until she returned from the farm. 

Speaking in an interview with the publication on Monday, a family member, Comr. Onyeisi Samuel said Precious suddenly fell down and her two legs were paralysed right there on the farm.

“My cousin, Precious, was a good and hardworking person. Nobody believed that she would be no more by now. She was hale and hearty, as she was the person who brought her two children to her mother that fateful Thursday morning and told her mother to help her take care of them, as her mother-in-law had asked her to follow her to the farm, where she did not return home to meet her children. What a wicked world. Precious, do not sleep off, make sure that your spirit rises to fight your killers,” he said.

The lifeless body of Precious had been deposited in the mortuary.
