A businesswoman has urged Nigerian women to make money, adding that men will come once they see the woman has money.
Roberta Edu, CEO of Moppet Foods, said on Facebook that Nigerian men claim to have no interest in older women or single mothers, yet they go after them when they have money.
She added that even though she is married with kids, younger Nigerian men still profess love for her because they perceive her as rich.
She shared a screenshot of a chat she received from a younger man promising to be her “hubby” and friend. The man also told her he loves her.
In the caption, Roberta wrote: “Nobody digs gold more than a Nigerian man. You see all that mouth they make about not marrying older women or women with children? What they really mean is: they’re not marrying broke women with children, or broke older women.
“If you’re a woman in Nigeria and you have money, just watch, young guys in their 30s will flood in, proposing marriage left and right. A lot of them are already married to richer women in their 40s while they themselves are in their 30s. If you think it’s love, look through any popular Nigerian man that has married an older woman, and ask yourself, why is the woman always rich?
“See this one, with all the family content I post on this street, he’s already building castles in the air. Shebi una see am?
“Wooh, woman go find money abeg. Don’t let anyone tell you that you won’t see husband, just have correct money. You’ll see very humble, fine young men ready to marry.”
