
The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an interim order restraining activist, Omoyele Sowore, and others from holding the planned protest to demand the release of incarcerated secessionist leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in front of Aso Rock and some other places.
The Federal government had approached the court presided over by Justice M.G Umar, to seek an injunction barring the planned protest from holding in front of the seat of power. Those listed as defendants include Omoyele Sowore, Sahara Reporters Foundation, Take It Back Movement and other unknown persons.
The court in a ruling delivered on Friday, October 17, granted the prayers of the Federal government and issued an interim order restraining the defendants from staging their protest in the following areas Aso Rock Villa, or anywhere close to Villa, National Assembly, Force Headquarters, Court of Appeal, Eagle Square and Shehu Shagari way pending the hearing of the motion on notice.
The court gave Sowore and others till Monday, October 20 to file an application as to why the interim order should be set aside.
