Social media personality, Geh Geh, has set tongues wagging online after boldly declaring that African men have no business kneeling to propose to women.
Speaking during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Geh Geh said it makes no sense for a man to kneel while proposing to someone he is actually doing a favour by marrying.
In his words:
“Naturally, in Africa, men are not supposed to kneel to propose to a woman because you’re doing the woman a favour. It’s like doing someone a favour and still kneeling to beg them. It doesn’t make sense.”
He went further to argue that men don’t even need marriage, claiming women benefit more from the union.
“If we’re being honest, men don’t need marriage for anything. What do I really need a woman for? Nothing. The only thing a man needs a woman for is children, and even without marriage, you can still have them. So if I know I don’t really need you and I’m inviting you into my life, why should I kneel?”
His statement immediately sparked mixed reactions across social media, with many Nigerians either calling him bold and factual or delusional and disrespectful.
A commenter said, “Geh Geh always drops controversial truth bombs, I love it.” Another added, “If you don’t need women, why you always talk about them?”
Geh Geh’s blunt take has once again divided opinions online. Nigerians are now debating one big question: Should men really stop kneeling to propose, or is Geh Geh just chasing clout?
