A woman has sparked heated debate on social media after revealing why she stopped speaking to her brother over a civil service job opportunity.

The woman said the fallout began after her brother gave the available job slot to his wife instead of her, a decision she found unfair.

Job Slot Sparks Family Rift

In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, the woman explained that her sister-in-law has only eight years left before retirement.

She added that she completed her National Youth Service Corps programme two years ago and still has over 30 years ahead in public service.

The woman wrote: “I stopped talking to my only brother because he gave the civil service job slot to his wife instead of me.

“She has just 8 years left before retirement, while I finished NYSC 2 years ago and still have 30+ years ahead in the service.

“My brother said they only gave him one slot. Now, my husband is telling me I must either make peace with my brother or forget about him.”
