Ahead of the 2027 general election, APC chieftain, Biodun Ajiboye, says there is little or no possibility for Peter Obi to gather as much votes as he gathered during the 2023 general election,

Obi who contested against President Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP during the 2023 presidential election, surprised many by polling a total of 6,101,533 votes to come third in the election.

In a chat with Channels TV on Monday night, January 19, Ajiboye said that Obi no longer has the political capacity to wield so much votes as he did in 2023. According to him, Obi has lost total control of the South East where he comes from.

‘’The scenario of 2023 is not the scenario of today..we have 208 governors today”

When asked if having so much governors in the same political party translates into presidential votes, Ajiboye answered

‘’That’s not the point. A governor is supposed to be in charge of his state. It is a natural thing. The good things we have done will speak for us.

Obi is no longer in commanding the followership he was commanding before. Tell me that Governor in the South East that is APGA of LP or ADC. What I am saying is that scenarios have changed. What I am saying is that in the past, Obi had today of the South East”
