26-year-old woman in tears after discovering husband is 51, not 34 as he claimed

A 26-year-old newly married woman has stirred mixed reactions online after revealing that her husband allegedly lied about his age before their marriage.

The lady identified as @Idarabasimi took to her X page to narrate this.

Lady shares husband’s deceit

According to the woman, she got married in December after dating a man who had consistently told her he was 34 years old.

However, her world reportedly came crashing down when she recently stumbled on his official documents while going through his files.

She disclosed that she found his international passport, which showed his year of birth as 1972, indicating that he is actually 51 years old.

Lady left heartbroken following the discovery

The shocking discovery left her emotionally distressed, as she said she had been crying since realizing the truth.

When confronted, the man reportedly dismissed her concerns, insisting that age is just a number and claiming he was unaware that he was already 51 years old. This response further deepened her pain and confusion.

The woman expressed regret over her decision, noting that she had previously turned down a 37-year-old suitor, only to end up marrying a much older man who allegedly deceived her.

She lamented that in ten years’ time, her husband would be in his sixties while she would still be in her thirties.

She said…

“I am a young girl of 26 years who got married in December.

My husband told me he was 34 years old when we were dating. Today, I was going through his file and documents and saw his passport where his birth year was stated as 1972.

This means he is 51 years old.

I have been crying since I stumbled on this. When I confronted, he said age is just a number and that he didn’t know he was up to 51 years old. Can you imagine?

In 10 years, he will be 61 years old while I will be 36 years. He has apologised but will I ever forgive myself for making this type of mistake?

I rejected a 37 year-old man, 51 year-old man deceived me and married me. Will I ever forget about this? Should I go for a divorce? I never planned for this type of life. Not that he is rich, I only married him to build with him.”
