Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has raised alarm over the alleged demonetisation of her movie Where Love Lives, accusing a man of unlawfully claiming ownership of a song used in the film.
In a social media post, the actress alleged that an individual identified as Emmanuel Davis of Lagos Sounds took a song created specifically for the movie and falsely claimed it as his own.
She explained that the song was composed by an artist named Uzor solely for the film and was never released publicly in order to prevent piracy.
According to Ademoye, the man allegedly uploaded the song online, claimed copyright ownership, and proceeded to take over the monetisation of Where Love Lives, thereby earning revenue from the movie without authorisation.
The actress stressed that she would never lay claim to what does not belong to her and vowed to pursue the matter until the individual involved is held accountable.
She also called out another alleged pirate, identified as Anwuli, claiming the person caused her to lose a separate movie that had amassed over six million views.
Ademoye revealed that the individual attempted to resolve the issue out of court, but she declined, insisting that the case be settled legally.
