Gunmen kill Kano businessman

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have k!lled a popular businessman, Alhaji Habibu Mai Shago in Tiga town, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.

Security analyst, Bakatsine, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

According to him, the attackers invaded Tiga town late Monday night and stormed the victim’s shop, where he was shot d3ad.

The gunmen were said to have carted away valuables from the shop before fleeing the area.

“Last night, gunmen suspected to be bandits invaded Tiga town in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State. During the attack, they k!lled a well-known community businessman, Alhaji Habibu Mai Shago, in his shop and carted away valuables before fleeing the area,” he wrote.

“This tragic incident has once again thrown the spotlight on the worsening security situation in the region.

“How long will the continued escalation of banditry in Nigeria’s northwest persist, and what concrete steps are being taken to protect lives and livelihoods?”
