David Beckham’s son Romeo Beckham debuts ‘family’ tattoo as estranged son Brooklyn covers up his ink

Romeo Beckham has unveiled a new “family”-themed tattoo, a move that comes amid a continuing public feud with his older brother, Brooklyn. 

The 23-year-old’s fresh ink, the word “family” in script, was placed above an existing cross and angel wings tattoo on the back of his neck. Photos of the tattoo were shared by his London-based studio, Fineline Hearts Club, on Instagram Sunday, February 8.

The timing of the new tattoo drew pointed comments from social media users, with one noting it was a “statement piece” and others highlighting the “funny timing.” This follows recent actions by his brother, 26-year-old Brooklyn Beckham, who appears to have covered up his own family-related tattoos. Brooklyn previously had the names of his siblings, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, inked on his finger, but the design was recently obscured by a cloudy new tattoo. He also altered a “DAD” tattoo dedicated to his father, David Beckham, replacing it with nautical-themed artwork.

An insider told the Daily Mail that Brooklyn underwent laser treatment to facilitate the changes. These alterations follow a scathing statement released by Brooklyn last month, in which he said he did “not want to reconcile with [his] family.” He accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of trying to ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and of controlling the family narrative through “performative social media posts.”

While David and Victoria Beckham have not publicly addressed the allegations, reports indicate Victoria “feels betrayed” by the situation. Romeo’s new tattoo is seen as a contrasting public affirmation of family solidarity amidst the ongoing rift.
