Romanticize your life as much as you can – Nigerian woman who lost three ribs to cancer advises people as she shares throwback video of herself

A Nigerian woman, Kate Bassey, who lost three ribs during battle with cancer, has advised people to romanticize their lives and make beautiful memories. 

Bassey gave the advice in a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, when she shared a throwback video of herself a few months before her cancer diagnosis.

“POV: She doesn’t know it yet but a few months after this, she would lose 3 ribs to cancer,” she captioned the video.

“Romanticize your life as much as you can…. Beautiful memories can hold you up through bad times. I would know this because it’s literally my life story. I love my body and myself so much that every scar/dent inflicted on me by Cancer has made me feel less confident. A moment for the hot legs pleaseeeeeeeee,” she wrote.
