US congresswoman Ilhan Omar seems to reference Trump as ‘Pedophile Protection Party’ leader

U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar has sharply criticised President Donald Trump following remarks he made about Somalia during a television interview, escalating tensions between the two political figures.

Trump, speaking Tuesday night on Fox Business, claimed that Somali immigrants were harming Minnesota and referred to Omar as a “fake congresswoman.” He did not elaborate on what he meant by the remark.

In response, Omar, who was born in Somalia and moved to the United States at age 12, took to social media platform X to voice her frustration.

“The leader of the P3dophile Protection Party is trying to deflect attention from his name being all over the Epstein files. At least in Somalia they execute p3dophiles not elect them,” she wrote to her more than 2.7 million followers.

Her comments reference ongoing public scrutiny surrounding Trump’s past association with convicted s3x offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump’s name has appeared multiple times in documents related to Epstein, though the president has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and has said he cut ties with Epstein decades ago. The White House has not yet responded publicly to Omar’s post.

The exchange marks the latest in a series of public clashes between the Minnesota congresswoman and the president, who have frequently criticised one another over immigration, foreign policy and domestic politics.
