The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has deployed a team of technical experts to the three host nations of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations for a series of stadium and facility inspections. The visits, which began this week, will continue through Tuesday, February 17.
The inspections will assess pitch conditions, safety, security, and infrastructure at key match and training venues designated for the tournament. CAF says the evaluations are part of a wider effort to raise standards on and off the field and enhance AFCON’s standing among the world’s leading football competitions.
The inspection tour will start in Tanzania, with visits planned for Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Zanzibar. In Kenya, the team will evaluate stadiums in Nairobi, including Kasarani Stadium, Nyayo Stadium, and Talanta Sport Stadium, as well as training facilities like the Ulinzi Sports Complex and the Kenya Academy of Sports.
In Uganda, the CAF delegation will visit Entebbe and Kampala, inspecting Mandela National Stadium and other training sites, before traveling to Hoima to review Hoima City Stadium.
CAF officials say these inspections are critical to ensuring that host nations meet the organizational and technical requirements necessary for a successful AFCON 2027.
