Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has stirred reactions online after sharing her advise on how to handle in-laws who don’t immediately accept you.

Try to Build a Positive Relationship

In a recent interview with TVC host Morayo Afolabi Brown, Omotola advised spouses to make genuine efforts to win over their in-laws.

She emphasized that patience, understanding, and consistent effort can sometimes bridge gaps and create harmony in the family.

Family Support Matters in Marriage

The actress also stated that marriage is challenging enough without additional stress from family tensions.

She explained that lack of support from in-laws can make an already difficult journey even tougher

In her words;

“I will advise that if the families of the spouse don’t like you, try everything you possibly can to make them understand you. But there are some parents that are hell-bent on not liking you regardless of what you do, they already have a prejudice. Marriage is already hard, and starting without love and support only makes the journey tougher…”
