“I wasn’t aware he was married” — BBN star Maria breaks silence on her relationship

Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Maria Chike Benjamin, has broken her silence on claims that labeled her a home wrecker.

In a recent podcast interview with Chude Jideonwo, Maria addressed controversies surrounding her relationship, insisting the narrative about her has been misrepresented.

Speaking Her Truth

Maria, who is married to Kelvin Anene, clarified the situation, stating, “I wasn’t aware that he was married when we started dating.”

She emphasised that she does not feel obliged to explain her private life to the public.

“I don’t owe people my personal life. I am not a saint and I’m nobody’s role model because I’m for me. Whoever loves me can then decide to follow my steps,” she added.

Denying the Allegations

The former housemate firmly denied claims of breaking up a home. “I am going to stand by this, and this is the gospel truth, I didn’t destroy any marriage,” Maria said.

She further explained, “I have never and would never do that. I am also a woman and I know how it feels when a man is having an affair.”

Maria’s candid response comes amid public scrutiny, as she continues to navigate life in the spotlight while defending her reputation.
