A Nigerian couple have reportedly gone their separate ways three months after they got married over the decision on whose church to attend. An X user who shared the story online said the separation involved her husband’s friend.

According to her, the man and his wife had a serious disagreement after the husband insisted that his wife must accompany him to his own church. The wife however disagreed, insisting that she cannot join her husband in his church as she is already attached to her own church. She argued that she serves with the Children department in her church and is emotionally attached to the children.

According to the X user, the disagreement led to the wife refusing to carry out her marital duties including cooking and intimacy. Things got so bad that the couple had to go their separate ways.

The story has sparked a debate online as some Netizens have asked if they did not date and never had such discussions before getting married.
