Why I prayed to God to restore my relationship with Funke Akindele – Juliana Olayode

Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has opened up about her restored relationship with senior colleague Funke Akindele, revealing how she prayed for years for their friendship to be rekindled.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Juliana explained that her desire was never about working together again, but simply to be on good terms and reconnect personally.

“I am so grateful to God that we are besties again. All those years, I kept saying to God in my prayers that He should restore our friendship. I didn’t care about working with her again, I just wanted to be able to go to her house freely, laugh with her, see her, and greet her,” she said.

The actress noted that Funke Akindele had been there for her during difficult moments, which made the reconciliation even more important to her.

Reflecting on the past, Juliana recalled how their fallout began years ago, despite her rise to fame through Funke’s project.

She had publicly apologised in 2023 for her role in their misunderstanding, an apology that was warmly accepted.

“When I prayed about it, it wasn’t to return to her project. It was just about the relationship, because she has been there for me,” she added.

Since their reconciliation, Juliana revealed that their bond has grown stronger, describing their relationship as close and joyful, a clear sign that time and forgiveness can truly heal old wounds.
