“I need a rich husband, I don’t deal with poor men” – Woman cries out over pressure to get married

A Nigerian woman has cried out online over pressure from family and friends to get married, saying she is tired of being single.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that the constant reminders and expectations from those around her have pushed her to openly state the kind of partner she desires.

“Please, I need a husband. My family are disturbing me to get married, my friends, my mom, everybody. I’m tired of being single. I’m serious about it. I need a rich guy, a responsible man, a God-fearing man, a handsome man that will take care of me.”

She further stressed that financial status is very important to her, noting that she prefers being around wealthy people and believes marrying a rich man will elevate her lifestyle.

The woman also made it clear that she has no interest in dating poor men, adding that she wants a single man who can meet her expectations.

“I don’t like staying with poor people. I like staying with rich people. When you marry a rich man, you upgrade yourself. I need a rich man that will take care of me. And I don’t need a married man, I need a single guy,” she added.

Many reactions have followed her confession. One user wrote, “At least she no hide am, but I hope she’s rich too 😅” while another commented: “God-fearing but na money first?”

Her statement has continued to stir mixed reactions, with many debating whether her standards are realistic or overly materialistic.
