Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has opened up about a deeply personal and emotional chapter of his life, revealing how family tensions shaped his upbringing.
Speaking during a recent interview, the comic actor narrated how he spent only eight months living with his biological father, a period he described as filled with conflict and rejection.
According to him, his stepmother issued an ultimatum that forced his father to choose between his wife and his son, ultimately leading to his exclusion from the home.
“In all my life, I’ve only lived with my father for eight months as his child. From the moment I moved in, it was trouble every single day. My stepmother told my father to choose between me and her, and he chose her,” Inojie said.
The actor further disclosed that the situation worsened when he gained admission into the university.
Instead of receiving support, he was allegedly told to delay his education for the sake of his stepmother’s child, who was significantly younger.
“When I finally got admission into the university, she insisted I should wait for her own child to grow so we could attend together — a child I’m 18 years older than,” he added.
This revelation echoes similar accounts shared by public figures in past years, highlighting recurring issues of family pressure and educational setbacks in blended homes across Nigeria.
