Nana Akua Addo responds to fashion brand who accused her of stealing their Cathedral dress design

Nana Akua Addo has responded after fashion brand ALmée Couture accused her of taking their design to someone else to make the Cathedral dress she wore to the AMVCA. 

According to ALmée Couture, Nana, a Ghanaian model and actress, consulted with them and they drew the design but she chose not to continue business with them, only for them to later discover that she took the design to another designer. 

However, responding, Nana shared her chats with ALmée Couture. She claimed the design was hers and she showed it to them to make but when they said they couldn’t make it, she took it to a Nigerian brand who brought her vision to life. 

Nana wrote: “I’ve seen so much misinformation about my recent AMVCA outit. (Cathedral). 

“I reached out to @almee.li for my outft. I shared my idea with you and explained exactly how I wanted it. You mentioned that you didn’t want to execute it the way I
envisioned because of how detailed my ideas were, a refund was made, and I
eventually got someone else to create it. 

“So why and how is it now being claimed as yours? The entire concept and
creative direction were my intellectual property.” 

Nana added in the caption: “THE AUDACITY!!! THIS WAS MY MOODBOARD architectural, structure!!! 

“I carry my idea and concept come show you, you say you no fit do am, I carry my Kaya go another place, headache don Dey worry you.” 

Nana then thanked the Nigerian designer who took the “risk” to make the dress.
