“We’ve normalised choosing sides” — AY Makun speaks on relationship accountability and emotional neglect

Comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has shared his thoughts on relationships, emotional neglect, and accountability in a recent post on X.

According to him, society has become too quick to pick sides in relationship conflicts without properly examining what went wrong.

He noted that both emotional neglect and betrayal are painful experiences, adding that one form of hurt should not automatically justify another.

AY further stated that relationships may survive more if accountability is shared instead of being shifted or “outsourced” to one party.
