“I prayed my daughter wouldn’t follow my footsteps” — Single mother laments

A single mother has generated emotional reactions on social media after opening up about the pain of watching her daughter also become a single mother despite years of sacrifice and struggle to give her children a better life.

The woman shared her frustrations during an online discussion about parenting, broken homes and generational hardship.

According to her, she spent years doing menial jobs and raising her children alone after their father allegedly failed to take responsibility for them.

She explained that her greatest fear was seeing her daughter repeat the same cycle she experienced.

“Nobody talks about the pain of being a single mother and all you envisioned for your children is for a better life. You don’t pray for your children to follow your footsteps. You still see them getting pregnant for stupid, nonsense, wayward men, something you prayed against. All your life you’ve been struggling to feed these children because of the waywardness of their father, and that child ends up being another single mother in your own house,” she added emotionally.
