Police denies arresting Boko Haram suspects in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has denied reports alleging that suspected Boko Haram members were arrested in Ilorin, the stat capital.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, clarified that no Boko Haram suspects were apprehended anywhere within the state, contrary to information circulating across social media platforms.

The police noted that the misleading reports were unverified and warned members of the public against spreading fear-inducing information capable of disrupting public peace and security.

According to the command, security agencies in Kwara remain vigilant and fully committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state, urging residents to remain calm and continue their lawful activities without fear.

The command further advised the public to rely only on credible and official sources for security-related updates, stressing that misinformation could undermine ongoing efforts to maintain stability and public confidence.
