“If music fails, I’ll return to office work” – Shoday explains why he has no tattoos

Rising Nigerian music star, Shoday has shared his cautious outlook on the music industry, explaining why he has chosen not to get tattoos despite his growing popularity.

The singer, whose real name is Segun Shodade, made the revelation during a recent interview, saying he prefers to keep his options open in case his music career does not go as planned.

Speaking on Monday, June 1, 2026, Shoday said his decision was influenced by the uncertainties that come with the entertainment industry.

He noted that while music is his passion, he does not believe in putting all his hopes into one path, stressing that he is prepared to return to a conventional office job if circumstances demand it.

“I don’t have a tattoo on my body because I am skeptical. If music doesn’t work, I will carry my files and go back to office work. I don’t want to put myself in a position where I limit my future options.”

He added that his mindset is shaped by realism rather than fear, explaining that success in music can be unpredictable even for talented artists.

Shoday further explained that having a backup plan gives him peace of mind as he navigates his career.

“Music is not guaranteed for anybody. I enjoy what I do, but I also understand that life can change at any time,” he said.
