“I told God if we ever land safely, I will never take flight again” — Lady recounts her first flight experience

A Nigerian lady has gone viral after sharing her dramatic first flight experience on X (formerly Twitter), where she described intense fear during take-off and mid-air panic.

She recounted that what began as excitement quickly turned into fear after the aircraft departed from Lagos to Enugu.

According to her, anxious thoughts about possible crashes and airborne accidents overwhelmed her during the journey.

Panic sets in mid-air

In her post, she explained that her emotions escalated shortly after take-off, as fear-based thoughts flooded her mind. She said the experience became so intense that she began trembling uncontrollably.

She wrote: “My first time i took flight, I repented from all my sins and gave my life to christ right inside the plane.

I was enjoying the whole thing until we took off. Ahhh!! There was no imagination that didn’t come into my mind that day.

What if we crash…? What if we hang on the air…? All the bad news I heard about taking flight started flashing one after the other.

My body was shaking to the point that the grandma besides noticed it. She held my hands and asked me to calm down.

I told my God that if we ever land safely, I will never take flight again. Omo!! I went to heaven and came back immediately we landed in Enugu.”

Ticket cost and reflection after landing

She also reflected on the cost of the trip and her initial excitement before boarding.

“On that day, we paid about ₦17,000 for flight fee. I paid for economy and was excited I was going home with flight.

My destination was Enugu State, while we took off from Lagos.”

Despite the fear, she said the experience ended safely and humorously added that she would still consider flying again.

“When we land, I told God not to mind me oo, I was scared o, but I will still love to experience it again oo.

But now I can’t cause the fee has moved from ₦17,000 to over ₦120,000.”
