Michael Olise has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, with the Bayern Munich star catching more eyes at the World Cup with France

Bayern Munich is looking to offer in-demand Michael Olise a lucrative new contract to ward off interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Olise, 24, is currently shining at the World Cup with France following an outstanding season with Bayern, during which he claimed the Bundesliga Player of the Year award. However, the winger’s future remains up in the air, with Real reportedly preparing a huge offer worth around $252 million (£190M).
Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have also been associated with the former Crystal Palace star, who departed Selhurst Park in a deal worth up to $68M (£51M) in July 2024. The Frenchman signed a contract running until 2029, but Bayern are now keen to prolong his tenure. Several reports suggest that officials at the Allianz Arena are prepared to offer him a new five-year deal to guarantee his long-term commitment.
His wages would rise from $17M (£13M) per season to a staggering $29M (£22M), significantly more than what he would receive in Madrid. Furthermore, Bayern president Herbert Hainer maintains that they will not entertain offers for Olise, reports the Mirror.
Hainer recently told Bild: “Michael Olise is a Bayern Munich player who still has a long-term contract – and we are not a club that sells players. If Florentino Perez wants to send us an offer – which hasn’t happened yet – he can save himself the trouble.”
Meanwhile, former Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated that the German giants wouldn’t ‘flinch’ at any price tag. “Let me tell you a story from the past,” Rummenigge began.

“In 2009, we had an incredible offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery. At the time, it would have been a new world transfer record. I then went to our then CFO, Karl Hopfner, and Uli Hoeness with this offer.
“We discussed it for two hours, trying to figure out what to do with it. That day, we made a fundamental decision: that in the future, we would never sell a player we would miss on the pitch.
“And this unwritten rule still applies today. For a player like Olise, there’s no price tag that would make us flinch.”
Rummenigge continued his praise of Olise, adding: “He’s a wonderful player. I also appreciate how reserved and almost media-shy he is. That’s rare these days.
“He’s a great guy, and on the pitch, he’s outstanding, the way he plays football is almost magical. So it doesn’t surprise me that he’s incredibly popular and hyped among our fans”.
Olise contributed 15 goals and 21 assists across 32 league appearances for Bayern as the club retained the Bundesliga title. The 24-year-old then chipped in with a further two assists during France’s 3-1 victory over Senegal on Tuesday at the World Cup.
