Nollywood actor Ikechukwu Nweke appeals for help amid battle with colon cancer

Nollywood actor Ikechukwu Nweke has revealed that he has been battling colon cancer and is seeking financial assistance to continue his treatment.

In an Instagram video titled My Cancer Journey, the actor disclosed that he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2025.

According to Nweke, he has spent more than ₦15 million on chemotherapy, radiotherapy, medical tests, scans, and medications since beginning treatment.

Appealing to Nigerians for support, the actor expressed gratitude to his family and colleagues who have stood by him throughout his health battle.

He specifically acknowledged the support of Uche Nancy, Destiny Etiko, Lizzy Gold, Ebele Okaro, and others for their assistance during his treatment.

Nweke said he remains hopeful as he continues his fight against the disease and appealed to the public for financial support to help cover the cost of his ongoing medical care.

While sharing details of his account number, he said …

“Good morning, good afternoon and good evening from wherever you are watching me from, I was diagnosed with colon cancer last year. I have been trying so hard to manage it privately. I have spent a lot of money and my family members have contributed a whole lot. People close to me like Destiny Etiko, Uche Nancy, Lizzy Gold, Ebele Okaro, among others have also been supportive.

“Unfortunately, my battle is not over yet. My doctors have advised that I must continue with the next phase of my treatment to give me the best chance of a full recovery. I cannot afford to stop or skip this stage, but the financial burden has become overwhelming.

“Today, I’m humbly asking for your help. No amount is too small. Your support, your prayers, and even sharing this video can make a real difference in my fight for life”
