You cannot file to divorce your spouse and at the same time be complaining that someone snatched the same spouse you’re trying to divorce – Nigerian lawyer argues

A Nigerian lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, has sparked a debate over his views on divorce.

 In a video shared on social media, Ugwuonye who was May Yul-Edochie’s former lawyer, said an aggrieved spouse cannot in one breath file for divorce and still accuse someone of ‘’snatching” the said spouse they seek to separate from.

Once you have filed for divorce seeking to dissolve the marriage you and your spouse, it is taken that the marriage has broken irretrievably. After filing for a divorce, you cannot go back and begin to file for your spouse. You cannot continue to say somebody snatched your husband after filing for divorce”
