Jude Okoye responds to brother Peter Okoye’s financial misconduct allegations (video)

Music executive and former P-Square manager Jude Okoye has strongly refuted claims made by his younger brother Peter Okoye (Mr P), denying any diversion of $1.2 million in royalties or financial misconduct. 

In a lengthy video titled “Debunking the Lies,” Jude addressed several of the allegations Peter made in his recent tell-all series, saying the issues had already been investigated and clarified during proceedings with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and are currently before the court.

Responding to Peter’s allegation that he and Paul Okoye diverted a royalty payment of about $25,000, Jude explained that the payment was made based on instructions Peter himself had given in 2016.

According to him, an email from digital distributor Iroko showed that Peter requested his own share of the royalties to be paid directly to him, while the remaining balance belonging to Jude and Paul was paid into the Northside Entertainment account.

Jude also denied Peter’s claim that he was removed as a signatory to the company’s bank accounts. Displaying what he described as the official bank mandate, he insisted that Peter remained a signatory to all P-Square accounts and claimed the same documents had already been presented in court.

He further dismissed Peter’s claim that it took him three and a half months to release P-Square’s music catalogue backend records. According to Jude, Peter requested the records in October 2022, and they were sent to him just six days later, with download records allegedly showing they were accessed the same day.

Addressing Peter’s claim that he had never received royalty payments in dollars until recently, Jude displayed what he said were previous royalty payment records, alleging that Peter had been receiving dollar payments as far back as 2012.

He also disputed Peter’s claim that over $1.2 million in royalties had been diverted, insisting that the payments and distributions were properly documented and shared according to existing agreements.

Jude accused Peter of trying to manipulate public opinion through social media while the matter remains before the court. He maintained that he would not discuss issues still forming part of the ongoing legal proceedings beyond correcting what he described as false narratives.
