“Call the IGP” — Nigerian Police warns Nigerians against paying money for bail

The Nigerian Police Force has warned members of the public against paying money for bail at police stations, urging anyone confronted with such a demand to report the matter to the Inspector General of Police.

The police stated, “The law no allow anybody to for bail for any police station.”

The police said, “If you go any police station and dey say make you pay for bail, just quietly walk outside and call the IGO on 08057000001, 08057000002, or send text messages or WhatsApp to 08057000003.”
