“Things no dey sweet again, even toto” — Man expresses concern

A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after expressing frustration over what he described as changes in the taste and quality of food and modern beauty trends.

In a viral video, the man repeatedly complained that “things no dey sweet again”, comparing the taste of food today with what he experienced in the past.

‘Food itself, no taste again’

According to the man, rice, chicken, tomatoes and several other foods no longer taste the way they used to.

“Things no dey sweet again. Things no dey sweet. Food, rice, before rice was gbem.

“Chicken na gbem. Tomatoes, everything, they don take everything dey put am, We no no how it tastes again.”

He also spoke about bananas, recalling that they used to have different scents and a stronger taste.

“All the time wey you open bananas. Bananas wey be say, e dey get one kind scents. If you eat bananas, even mosquitoes go dey find you.

“Here, e go just dey taste, somehow, somehow.”

The man said his complaints were not limited to those foods, adding that many other things had also changed.

“So many foods. Even toto.

“Toto no dey sweet well again. Some of them, they don go dey tamper am, dey use nonsense dey wash am. They tighten them. They do all these things.

“toto don lose taste. Everything. Oh my, I don’t know.

“Food itself, no taste again.”

He also speaks about women’s appearance

The man then shifted his attention to women, comparing their appearance in the past with modern beauty practices.

“Before, when you see babes, you would feel okay, if you touch them. But now, see how they do it.

“They take the package and they front them. And some of them, na all this plaster na him full inside. e no dey give that vibe again.”

He ended the video by explaining that he was simply frustrated that morning and had decided to express his thoughts.
